FLOOD UPDATE

Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center Services have moved to 4852 Sand Rd SE due to flooding.

View pictures of the flooded shelter and temporary housing at the fairgrounds.

We welcome help from volunteers who have completed our training program. They must check in with the Volunteer Coordinator, Liz Ford, upon arrival. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with the Animal Center please contact Liz Ford at volunteer@facf.org to learn more about training.

We have had a generous outpouring of supplies from our community. At this time are greatest need is for monetary donations. These donations are very much appreciated and allow us to get all the specific supplies and equipment we need to run the emergency animal shelter and provide for the needs of the animals. This also helps us with ongoing support for our shelter and flood rescue animals. Donations can be mailed to the Friends of the Animal Center Foundation (FACF) at PO Box 1345, Iowa City, Iowa 52245 or on-line at www.FACF.org. All FACF donations are tax deductible and go directly towards care and comfort items for our four legged friends.

The Animal Center phone line is working, (319) 356-5295, but we are inundated with calls, so please be patient and leave a message if it goes to voice mail.

To reach the new temporary facility, go south on Sand Rd., about 5 miles from Highway 6.
